AI Roleplay: Tell Me About a Conflict

Featuring: Dominic Kade

Show how you handle disagreement without sounding like the problem. Learn the Situation → Action → Resolution → Lesson framework to turn a workplace conflict into evidence of your emotional intelligence and professional maturity.

Scenario Backstory

"Tell me about a conflict" is the question that separates candidates with real emotional intelligence from those who have just memorized interview answers. Most people answer it in one of two wrong ways: they tell a story where the other person was impossible and they were the victim, or they pick something so minor it does not sound like a real conflict at all.

The coach has debriefed enough hiring managers to know exactly what they are listening for: self-awareness, accountability, and evidence that the candidate can navigate disagreement without becoming the problem. The framework is Situation → Action → Resolution → Lesson. First, set the scene with enough context to understand the stakes. Then focus on what YOU specifically did - not what the team decided, not what eventually happened, your action. Describe the outcome honestly - not every conflict ends with a group hug. And finally, articulate what you learned about yourself that changed how you operate.

In this session the coach will help you pick the right conflict, push you past blame and deflection, and refine your answer until it shows genuine self-awareness. The goal is an answer that makes an interviewer think: this person can handle difficult situations without making them worse.
